The Power of Friendship

A friend is someone you can turn to with-out hesitation when you go through hard times and who sincerely rejoices when things go well for you. She gives you advice when you are worried and encouragement when you need to solve a problem. You can lean on her when your heart is breaking, yet she never exploits your vulnerability.

You can cry on her shoulder when you are sad and laugh with her when you are cheerful. She marvels at your good qualities and loves you in spite of your weaknesses.

She is proud when you achieve your goals, but not ashamed of you when fail. She will speak the truth in love, and you can tell her the truth without fear of offending her.

She will not hesitate to prove her friendship, even at the risk of it being abused. She offers help without expecting something in return.

It says is Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion.

Ask yourself this:
Am I surrounding myself with friends that lift me up in prayer and encouragement, or am I settling for an acquaintance that just puts a band aid on when you need her. I've been struggling with this for a while and feel that in the times we are living in that we need to evaluate our friendships and choose wisely who we confine in. God will bring people into your life to lift you up and stand strong with you in your weakest moments. Don’t settle, God knows your heart and what you need. But it's up to us to make the right decisions as to who we associate ourselves with.

If anything, this is just food for thought. I encourage you to pray for strong, spiritually fired up friends that will have your back through thick and thin. But remember God knows your hearts desires and will fulfill them as long as you let HIM lead the way.

Sweet Blessings,
Katie
